§ 51. Mr. MILLSasked the Prime Minister whether any decision has yet been reached to proceed with the construction of a tunnel between England and France; whether this will be a dual rail and road tunnel; and whether a direct East-Coast road and rail route has been considered so as to obviate or relieve the congestion of London road and rail traffic?
§ The PRIME MINISTERAs regards the first part of the question, the matter is still before the authorities concerned, 2632 and, though there will be no unnecessary delay, time must be given for a very thorough final consideration of a project of such importance; the other parts do not therefore at the moment arise.
