HC Deb 02 April 1930 vol 237 c1282
Mr. STANLEY BALDWIN

May I ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how far he proposes to go to-night and whether it is his intention to ask the House to sit late?

Mr. P. SNOWDEN

This Motion has been put down for the purpose of ensuring that sufficient progress will be made with the Coal Mines Bill, in order that it shall be finally disposed of at 7.30 to-morrow night. We have no desire or intention of asking the House to sit late, but we should like to get the Building Votes. At any rate, we shall not ask the House to sit after, say, 12 o'clock.

Ordered, That the Proceedings on Government Business be exempted, at this day's Sitting, from the provisions of the Standing Order (Sittings of the House)."—[Mr. P. Snowden.]
