§ 54. Mr. McSHANEasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will consider favourably the appointment of a representative of the Bank Officers' Guild to the Committee of Inquiry into Finance and Industry?
§ Mr. PETHICK - LAWRENCEThe members of the Committee were chosen for their personal and general qualifications and my right hon. Friend does not regard them as the representatives of 1719 particular interests. It would have been impossible in an inquiry of such scope and character to appoint representatives of all the organisations and interests which may be in some degree affected. My right hon. Friend has no doubt that the Committee will be prepared to give most careful consideration to any views which representative organisations may wish to express on matters within the scope of the inquiry.
§ Mr. MORLEYWill the proceedings of the Committee be published?
§ Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCEI should want notice of that question.
