§ 44. Mr. DAYasked the Minister of Agriculture the number of cases of foot-and-mouth disease that have been con firmed by his Department during the previous three months; and can he give particulars?
§ Mr. N. BUXTONDuring the three months ended 9th November, 12 outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease have been con firmed in four fresh centres. With the permission of my hon. Friend, I will circulate the detailed particulars in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
§ Mr. DAYCan the right hon. Gentleman say whether there has been any modifications in the Regulations issued from his Department on this subject during the last month or two?

§ Following are the detailed particulars:
- 4 in Scotland (Glasgow district—7th, 12th, 13th and 19th September).
- 1 in Devon (Axminster—10th October).
- 1 in Kent (Canterbury—21st October).
- 6 in Sussex (Hassocks district—27th, 29th October, 1st, 3rd and 8th (2) November).
§ These outbreaks have involved the slaughter of 615 cattle, 235 sheep and 643 pigs, with compensation amounting to approximately £18,050.
§ It was not possible to identify the origin of the initial case in any of these centres.
§ Infected area restrictions are still in force in the last two counties mentioned.
