HC Deb 04 November 1929 vol 231 c595
54. Mr. O. LEWIS

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is now in a position to state what action, if any, he proposes to take under the Merchandise Marks Act, 1926, with regard to the marking of imported tomatoes?

Mr. N. BUXTON

The draft of an Order in Council requiring the marking of tomatoes in accordance with the recommendations of the Standing Committee was laid before both House of Parliament on 30th October last. It is expected that the Order will be made before Christmas, and come into operation before the next tomato season.
