§ Mr. W. B. TAYLOR(by Private Notice) asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that a large section of butchers in London have decided to boycott beef that bears either the English or the Scottish National Mark; that this action will have the effect of preventing the consumer from distinguishing between home and foreign beef exposed for sale in shops; and, if so, whether he will take action to protect the interests both of consumers and producers?
§ Mr. N. BUXTONThe answer to the first two parts of the question is in the affirmative. I consider that this action is to be deplored, and I am in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland on the subject.
§ Colonel HOWARD-BURYAre they not following the example of the War Office and the Admiralty?
