§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKSI would refer the hon. Member to paragraph 7 (f) and (g) in the Discipline Code appended to the Police Regulations, which prohibit any member of a police force giving any testimonial of character with the object of obtaining employment for anyone or supporting an application for a licence of any kind, unless he has the consent of the chief officer of police.
