asked the Home Secretary whether he can make a statement on the appointment of a chief constable for the County of Warwick?

No, Sir. The matter is still under my consideration.

Can the right hon. Gentleman say when he will be able to give an answer?

As the hon. Member knows, it is a case of very great difficulty. I am going into it personally, and I do not want to rush the matter, because neither side would be satisfied if I did.
