HC Deb 14 March 1929 vol 226 c1263
37. Mr. SNELL

asked the Minister of Health the nature of the communications he has received from Torquay ratepayers with regard to the Daison housing scheme and the reply, if any, which he has made?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I have received a number of communications from or on behalf of persons who have purchased houses under a scheme assisted by the town council which came to an end some three years ago making complaints as to the administration of the scheme and asking for a public inquiry. The matter is one which has formed the subject of questions in this House on various occasions during the last two years. I have stated that after full consideration I am satisfied that no advantage would result from a public inquiry either to the purchasers or to the ratepayers generally.
