§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONI have been asked to reply. The licence duties for motor cycles (£1 10s. per annum for the light cycle and £3 for the heavy cycle) are not onerous, and the additional duty of £1 per annum for a sidecar attachment to a motor cycle does not appear to be unreasonable when the additional facilities obtained are taken into account. Further, it is common knowledge that the attachment of a sidecar does not prevent the carrying of a pillion passenger on the motor cycle.
§ Captain GUNSTONDoes the Minister agree with the view expressed in the question that the motor cycle with sidecar is the safest form of transport?
