HC Deb 22 July 1929 vol 230 c900
39. Mr. OLDFIELD

asked the Minister of Agriculture what steps he proposes to take to encourage the co-operative sale of agricultural produce; and whether he will consider making the use of cooperative societies compulsory in the sale of certain classes of produce?

Mr. N. BUXTON

I am considering what further steps can usefully be taken to hasten the marketing of produce along co-operative lines, and while I doubt the utility of compulsory methods in this connection, I shall be glad to consider any proposals which my hon. Friend may have in mind.

Sir H. CROFT

Will the answers be given before or after the election?
