§ 6. Mr. WALTER BAKERasked the Minister of Pensions whether he is considering the suggestion of the British Legion that there should be a right of appeal to an independent tribunal in all cases in which a pension is refused; and, if so, how soon a decision may be expected?
Mr. ROBERTSThis point is under my consideration along with other proposals which, as I informed my hon. Friend on the 9th instant, had been submitted to me by the British Legion. I cannot at the moment go beyond the terms of the reply which I then gave him, and of which I am sending him a copy.
§ Mr. BAKERWill the Minister be able to give a considered reply before the House rises for the Recess?
§ Mr. SIMMONSWould the Minister be prepared to accept representations from other bodies of ex-service men besides the British Legion?
Mr. ROBERTSCertainly. As I said in answer to a similar question last week, I shall be prepared to consider any representations that may be made on this matter.
