HC Deb 21 February 1929 vol 225 c1311
80. Mr. KELLY

asked the Secretary of State for War whether the fuel and light allowances to officers and men in the Army have received consideration, has any revision taken place; and, if so, will he give details of these allowances, showing any increase which has been made?

Mr. PENNY (Lord of the Treasury)

I have been asked to reply. The cash allowances issued for fuel and light are reviewed quarterly. I am sending the hon. Member a copy of the last two Army Orders announcing the rates from 1st February and for the previous three months respectively.

Mr. KELLY

Do these new rates mean an increase or a decrease?

Mr. PENNY

If the hon. Member reads carefully the particulars which are being sent to him, he will find out.
