§ 20. Sir KINGSLEY WOOD
asked the Lord Privy Seal whether he has received a copy of the resolution recently passed by the London County Council approving of works for relieving unemployment in London and at the same time assisting workers in the transferred areas; and whether he will communicate the terms of this resolution to other authorities who have hitherto neglected to proceed on similar lines?
I have not received a copy of the resolution, but I read in the Press with pleasure that it had been passed and that schemes would be put in hand which would give work not only to men from the depressed areas but also to unemployed men in London. In regard to the last part of the question I think the London County Council is giving a good lead to other areas, and I hope that its action will encourage any other authorities who are still holding back.
§ Sir K. WOOD
Will the right hon. Gentleman consider communicating the terms of this resolution in certain cases, inasmuch as the whole of the London County Council, including the Socialist members, voted for it?
