HC Deb 30 April 1929 vol 227 c1372
21. Mr. SHINWELL

asked the Minister of Transport the position in connection with the proposed shore road between Bo'ness and South Queensferry?

Colonel ASHLEY

I have no further information since I informed the hon. Member last month to the effect that this proposal had only been put forward tentatively, that it could not be regarded as of great importance from the point of view of traffic, and that I was not in a position to consider it further until the local authorities concerned had definitely made up their minds about the scheme and arrived at some agreement as to meeting their share of the cost.

Mr. SHINWELL

Can the right hon. and gallant Gentleman say whether his Department has been prepared to offer a grant?

Colonel ASHLEY

I do not think that I can make a definite promise until I receive a definite proposal. I will consider the matter.
