§ 47. Sir F. SANDERSONasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the total amount of donations received towards the extinction of the National Debt for each of the four years ended 31st March, 1926, 1927, 1928, and 1929?
§ Mr. CHURCHILLThe total amount of donations received in the four years was £1,290,703, including the anonymous gift of £500,000 in 1927 establishing the National Fund and Lord Inchcape's gift of like amount in 1928 in memory of the Hon. Elsie Mackay. I will circulate the details for particular years in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
