§ Mr. BETTERTONThe industry groups connected with civil engineering, for which statistics are available are constructional engineering and public works contracting. At July, 1928, the number of insured men, aged 18 to 64, classified as belonging to constructional engineering in Great Britain, was 24,320, while the corresponding figure for public works contracting was 151,900. Comparable statistics for July, 1914, and March, 1929, are not available.
