HC Deb 21 November 1928 vol 222 c1722
42. Sir ROBERT THOMAS

asked the Minister of Health what progress has recently been made in the adoption of covered sanitary refuse carts by local authorities; and whether his Department has decided upon any particular design as being most generally suitable?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH (Sir Kingsley Wood)

A number of types of such vehicles are at present to be seen in the Public Health Exhibition in the Agricultural Hall, and some of these are being extensively used by local authorities. The answer to the last part of the question is in the negative.
