§ Viscount WOLMERThe rentals of telephone extension lines are based on average installation and maintenance 495 costs, and the costs per line are not appreciably affected by the number of extensions connected to one installation. In the circumstances, my right hon. Friend regrets that he cannot reduce the existing charges, which amount to 6s. a quarter for each extension or 9s. a quarter if inter-communication is required.
