HC Deb 09 May 1928 vol 217 cc235-6
55. Mr. PONSONBY

asked the Home Secretary whether Prince Carol of Rumania is exempted from the Regulations which govern the admission and residence of aliens in this country?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS,

No, Sir.

Mr. PONSONBY

Does the right hon. Gentleman know what passport Prince Carol had on entering this country, and whether he was treated in exactly the same way as any other alien?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I have answered the hon. Gentleman's question. He is now asking a question about passports, and if he desires it, of course, I will get him full information. Prince Carol came here with a visa granted to him, and he is here under exactly the same Regulations as any alien.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

When will the right hon. Gentleman make the further statement he promised to the House yesterday on the receipt of the letter from Prince Carol?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

If the hon and gallant Gentleman will put down a question for to-morrow, I think I shall be able to answer it.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Is this sufficient notice for to-morrow?
