Mr. PALINGasked the Minister of Transport when the negotiations between the West Riding County Council and the Doncaster Corporation regarding the remaking of Bentley Road are likely to be concluded; if he is aware that this matter has been under discussion for nearly six years; and whether, in view of the state of the road concerned, he will give the question his immediate attention so that the work may be proceeded with as soon as possible?
§ Colonel ASHLEYI understand that agreement has been reached between the county council and the corporation that certain preparatory works have already been put in hand and that the widening is likely to be completed in the near future.
§ Mr. PALINGIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that only within the last week or two the county council passed a resolution protesting against the delay, 981 which they say has been caused by the Doncaster Corporation. Does he know that this business has been occupying those bodies for six years, and will he step in and put an end to it?
