HC Deb 26 March 1928 vol 215 cc804-5
34. Mr. KELLY

asked the Secretary for Mines the number of tin mines which were being worked in Cornwall during the years 1919, 1920 and 1927, respectively?

The SECRETARY for MINES (Commodore Douglas King)

The number of mines in Cornwall at which dressed tin ore was produced was 29 in 1919, 23 in 1920 and 11 in 1927. In each year there were in addition a number of mines at which only prospecting or development work was in progress.

Mr. KELLY

Has the hon. and gallant Member any information as to the mines which are not working?

Commodore KING

No, Sir, but I think I could supply the information if the hon. Member put down a question.
