HC Deb 26 March 1928 vol 215 cc798-9
22. Mr. W. THORNE

asked the Secretary of State for Air what was the cause of the strike of the workmen working at the Howden Works, Yorkshire; and whether the dispute has been settled?

Sir S. HOARE

As regards the first part of the question, I am not as yet in possession of the full details of this dispute, but particulars have been called for and on their receipt I will communicate with the hon. Member. As regards the second part, I understand that the workmen have been advised by their union to return to work to-day (Monday) and that it is expected that they will comply with that advice.
