HC Deb 22 March 1928 vol 215 c540
9. Mr. ROBINSON

asked the Home Secretary if his attention has been drawn to the nuisance caused recently by the passage to and fro on the Thames in the vicinity of the Palace of Westminster of a small boat driven by an exceptionally noisy motor; and will he take powers to enforce the use of silencers on motors used in small boats?

The MINISTER of TRANSPORT (Colonel Ashley)

I have been asked to reply. My attention had not previously been called to this matter, and I have received no similar complaints. I have no power to enforce the use of silencers on motors used on small boats on the River Thames, but I will communicate with the Port of London Authority, if the hon. Member so desires.
