HC Deb 20 December 1928 vol 223 cc3203-4
22. Mr. PARKINSON

asked the Minister of Health whether he is prepared to extend the period of relief beyond 31st December, 1928, to able-bodied men for whom test work cannot be found by the Wigan board of guardians?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I will of course give careful consideration to any further information which the guardians may put before me, but as at present advised I cannot accept the view that the guardians are, in fact, unable to provide test work for the limited number of persons whose cases have been under discussion.

Member's permission, to circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
