HC Deb 30 April 1928 vol 216 c1328
14. Mr. DAY

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs, whether he can give the exact amount of money that was spent on advertising by the Empire Marketing Board for the purpose of marketing Empire products in Great Britain for the 12 months ended to the last convenient date?

Mr. AMERY

The total expenditure on publicity work so far brought to account in respect of the 12 months ending 31st March, 1928, is £206,337 2s. 7d. This sum represents expenditure upon all the different forms of advertising at present being used by the Board, viz., Press and poster advertising, participation in exhibitions, fairs and shopping weeks, cinema activities and a lecture campaign.

Mr. DAY

How much of that is spent on poster advertisements and how much Press?

Mr. AMERY

Perhaps the hon. Member will put down another question.
