HC Deb 25 April 1928 vol 216 c895
8. Sir R. THOMAS

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that there is a shortage of juvenile labour in some parts of the country, while in others there is juvenile unemployment; and whether the transference of adolescent workers comes within the scope of the Industrial Transference Board's investigations?

Mr. BETTERTON

Yes, Sir, I am aware of the facts. The problem is clearly one within the scope of the Industrial Transference Board.

Sir R. THOMAS

Is the hon. Member not aware that these men who are considered over age are being neglected and are not being transferred, and that a great number of them are anxious to obtain employment?

Mr. BETTERTON

No doubt those are just the problems which are now being considered by the Industrial Transference Board.
