asked the Minister of Labour how many claims for unemployment benefit were rejected during the 12 months ended to the last convenient date at the Walworth Road, Borough, Employment Exchange, giving an analysis of the reasons for these rejections?

As the reply includes a number of figures, I will, with the hon. Member's permission, circulate a statement in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Is the reason for the large increase of refusals at this Employment Exchange any tightening up by the Ministry?

Mr. BETTERTON

I could not say without notice what reason can be assigned.
