§ Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAMThere is no net increase in the number of warrant officers and officers promoted therefrom for 1928, the apparent increase in warrant officers being offset by a decrease in 1797 the higher ranks, owing to a reduction in the number of officers who are now completing their 10 years' service in warrant rank and thus becoming due for promotion. No promotions to warrant rank, other than as required to fill wastage, may therefore be anticipated.
