HC Deb 30 November 1927 vol 211 cc498-9
38. Mr. LAWSON

asked the Secretary for Mines whether the Government have yet arrived at any decision in respect to the recommendations of the Royal Commission on Mining Subsidence; and, if so, whether it is the intention of the Government to promote legislation based on that Report, particularly in relation to the safeguarding of the interests of workmen who own their own houses?

The SECRETARY for MINES (Colonel Lane Fox)

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given by the Prime Minister on 17th November to the hon. Member for Blaydon (Mr. Whiteley).

Mr. T. WILLIAMS

Are any immediate steps likely to be taken in the Doncaster area, which is peculiarly affected in this direction?

Colonel LANE FOX

In view of the previous reply, I obviously cannot answer that question at present.
