HC Deb 29 November 1927 vol 211 cc269-70
61. Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

asked the Postmaster-General if his attention has been called to the delays in postal delivery in North Somercotes and the north-east of Lincolnshire; and what steps he has taken to remedy the delay?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

Complaint has been received with regard to the time of the morning delivery in the North Somercotes district, and additional staff will be provided to remedy this. There has also been recently some delay in delivery owing to late running of mail trains, and representations have been made to the railway company with the view of securing a more punctual service.

63. Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

asked the Postmaster-General if his attention has been called to the interference by high-power transmission sets or dynamos with the telephone system in north-east Lincolnshire; and what steps he is taking to mitigate this nuisance?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

I have no knowledge of such interference with the telephone system in north-east Lincolnshire. If my hon. and gallant Friend will furnish me with particulars of cases he has in mind, I shall be glad to investigate them.
