HC Deb 29 November 1927 vol 211 c265
51. Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that Entertainments Duty is charged on concerts arranged for the benefit of the British Legion; why these concerts are not exempt from this tax like those arranged for other charitable purposes; and whether in future he will allow them to be exempt?

Mr. CHURCHILL

If my hon. and gallant Friend will furnish me with particulars of the cases he has in mind I will have the matter investigated and communicate with him.
