asked the President of the Board of Trade the value and weight of cotton yarn and cotton woven goods imported into this country for the past six months and the approximate figures for the importation of the same commodities for the same period in 1926?

The total imports of cotton yarns into Great Britain and Northern Ireland registered during the six months ended 31st October, 1927, amounted to 4,982,000 lbs., valued at £466,000, and of cotton piece goods to 131,000 cwt., valued at £2,184,000.

The corresponding imports in the same period last year amounted to 3,748,000 lbs. of yarns, valued at £402,000 and to 98,000 cwts. of piece goods, valued at £1,941,000.
