§ Sir J. GILMOURI regret that figures showing the position as at the 30th September, 1927, are not available. As at the 15th September, 1927, there were 20,320 unemployed persons, comprising 18,766 males and 1,554 females, in receipt of relief from the parish councils in Lanarkshire. The number of dependants in those cases was 41,895.
