HC Deb 09 November 1927 vol 210 c185
20. Mr. R. MORRISON

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been called by local authorities to the urgent necessity of legislation to protect tenants against excessive increases in rents after property is decontrolled; and whether he proposes to take any action?

Sir K. WOOD

My right hon. Friend has received an identical resolution en the matter referred to from a number of local authorities, but, as he has previously stated in the House, it is proposed to provide for the continuance for one year of the Rent Restriction Acts in their present form by including them in the Expiring Laws Continuance Bill. If this is done, no Amendments will be practicable.
