9. Mr. W. M. WATSONasked the Minister of Labour if he can give the number of unemployed males and females registered at the Employment Exchanges in the county of Fife for the latest available date, specifying particularly miners, factory workers, building-trade workers, and dockyard workers?
§ Mr. BETTERTONAt the 24th October, 1927, the number of insured work-people in the county of Fife recorded as unemployed was 6,578, of whom 5,463 were males and 1,115 were females. I am circulating in the OFFICIAL REPORT a statement showing the principal industries to which they belonged.
