HC Deb 24 May 1927 vol 206 c1841
66. Mr. GILLETT

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that dissatisfaction exists among the men and women registered at the Kingswood Employment Exchange because of alleged unfair treatment; whether he is aware that the hon. Member for Bristol East is in receipt of daily complaints which point to ill-mannered treatment of applicants by some of the persons by whom they are interviewed; and whether he will cause an official inquiry to be held into the administration at this Exchange?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of LABOUR (Mr. Betterton)

No, Sir. I am not aware of any such dissatisfaction, nor am I aware that the applicants for benefit who are interviewed by the Rota Committees attached to the Kingswood Exchange have any cause to complain of the treatment which they receive either from members of the staff or the Committee, but I shall be pleased to investigate, any specific complaints which the hon. Member brings to my notice.
