HC Deb 23 May 1927 vol 206 cc1650-1
55. Mr. RENNIE SMITH (for Mr. COVE)

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that there is a demand among lecturers in technical institutions for short refresher courses of an advanced character in chemistry and physics; and if, in view of the educational advantages of keeping these lecturers in touch with the most recent research in their subjects, he is prepared to organise such courses?

Lord E. PERCY

The information in my possession does not support the suggestion made in the first part of the question. Lecturers in technical institutions have ample opportunities, e.g., through membership of learned societies, of keeping in touch with scientific progress.
