HC Deb 10 May 1927 vol 206 c181
2. Mr. H. WILLIAMS

asked the President of the Board of Trade the total consumption of petrol or petrol substitutes in this country last year; and what proportion thereof was refined in the British Isles?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

The information available is not sufficiently complete to enable a precise figure to be given, but my holt. Friend will find some particulars with regard to petrol, including the quantity refined in this country, in an article on pages 380–1 of the "Board of Trade Journal" for 7th April, copy of which I am sending to him.
