HC Deb 10 May 1927 vol 206 cc181-2
4. Mr. TAYLOR

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can make any statement to the House as to the progress of the new French Tariff Bill now before the French Chamber of Deputies?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

The proposed new tariff has been under examination by the Customs Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, who are, I understand, about to report on the Measure. It is expected that the Chamber will deal with the Bill in the Session which begins to-day.

Mr. TAYLOR

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the report indicates any substantial concession from the original proposals?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

I should like notice of that question.
