§ 3. Sir BASIL PETOasked the Minister of Pensions what is the percentage of total pensions cases which have been stabilised by final awards; and whether he can form any estimate of the date by which all pensioners will have been granted final awards?
§ Major TRYONOf the aggregate number of officers and men at present in receipt of disability pension or allowance under the Warrants, 338,000 have received final awards, while 174,000 are still in receipt of conditional or temporary pension. A substantial proportion of the latter figure consists of cases in which, owing to the special conditions of the case, it has been found that a final award could not, in the officer's or man's interests, be equitably made, and indeed in some of these cases it may never be possible to do so. I regret I cannot form any estimate of the date by which all cases in which a final award could 1739 properly be made will have been so dealt with.
