HC Deb 05 May 1927 vol 205 cc1750-1
25. Sir J. POWER

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the sum to be provided in future years in respect of pensions charged on the defence Votes is likely to increase or to decrease; and what the total is expected to be next year?

The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. Churchill)

An increase is to be expected in the amounts likely to be required in the next few years for providing the pensions borne on the Votes of the Fighting Services. A rough estimate of the increase in 1928 over 1927 is £112,000.
