HC Deb 30 March 1927 vol 204 cc1223-4
4. Mr. TAYLOR

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the interest of Great Britain in Danube shipping, he can give any information as to the work of the Danube Commission; and whether the work of that body will in any way come up for consideration by the Economic Conference of the League of Nations?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Sir Burton Chadwick)

I have been asked to answer this question. There are two Commissions for the Danube; the European Commission for the maritime part of the river, and the International for the upper part. Information as to the work of these bodies is contained in a recent Report on Danube Navigation made to the League of Nations. I cannot say whether the work of either body will be considered at the forthcoming International Economic Conference.
