HC Deb 28 March 1927 vol 204 cc868-9
56. Colonel DAY

asked the Home Secretary whether he has sanctioned the by-law suggested by the Eastbourne Watch Committee in respect of wireless loud-speaker nuisances?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I did not see my way to approve the by-law originally proposed, which seemed to me to go too far; but a by-law in a modified form since made by the Eastbourne Town Council, came into force last month.

Sir R. HALL

Has my right hon. Friend received any application regarding a similar nuisance in Southward?

Colonel DAY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether any application has been made to him from any other district?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I cannot say. It is apparently clear that one is coming from Southwark pretty soon.
