HC Deb 17 March 1927 vol 203 cc2190-1
58. Sir ROBERT THOMAS

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is now able to announce details of the toll concessions to be introduced at the Menai Bridge?

The MINISTER of TRANSPORT (Colonel Ashley)

As from the 1st April next, the existing tolls of 1s. 9d. and 1s. 2d. will be reduced to 1s. 8d. and 1s. respectively. Season tickets for periods of three months will also be available on and after the same date in respect of all vehicles, other than hackney carriages, at charges equivalent to half the reduced amount which would otherwise be payable by daily users of the bridge.

Mr. PALING

Can the right hon. Gentleman hold out any hopes that tolls are likely to he reduced in a great number of other cases, or abolished altogether?

Mr. SPEAKER

That is another matter.
