HC Deb 23 June 1927 vol 207 cc2027-8
23. Mr. HAYES

asked the President of the Board of Education what local authorities undertake orthopedic treatment for children of school age; what authorities work in conjunction with voluntary agencies; and whether in all cases the Board defrays 50 per cent. of the cost to the authority?

Duchess of ATHOLL

About 175 local authorities make some provision for the orthopædic treatment of children of school age in their areas. Practically all these authorities work in conjunction with voluntary agencies. The Board pay 50 per cent. of the cost of all approved schemes.
