HC Deb 15 June 1927 vol 207 c1002
40. Lieut. -Colonel HOWARD-BURY

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that Italy and other countries have banned the importation of skimmed milk; and whether, as such milk is unfit for infants, he will take steps to prevent its use by infants in this country?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH (Sir Kingsley Wood)

The information I have obtained is that there is no prohibition of the importation of skimmed milk into Italy or into any countries other than those mentioned in the reply given to my hon. and gallant Friend on 5th May. As regards the latter part of the question, my right hon. Friend is considering whether the warning declaration "Unfit for babies" on tins of condensed skimmed milk should be made more conspicuous.
