§ (i) To inquire as to the selection and provision of books for public elementary schools and to make recommendations for the improvement of their quality and supply.
528§ (ii) To inquire and report as to the courses of study suitable for children (other than children in infants' departments) up to the age of 11 in elementary schools, with special reference to the needs of children in rural areas.
