§ 59. Mr. HAYDN JONESasked the President of the Board of Education what is the cause of the delay in the publication of the Report of the Departmental Committee on the Welsh language, and when it is likely to appear?
Duchess of ATHOLLThe delay is due to the loss which the Committee suffered in the death of its Chairman, the late Bishop of St. David's, and of one of its members, the late Principal Thomas Rees, and to the extra time required for the production of a Welsh translation of the Report. I understand that the Committee hope to be able to present both the English and Welsh versions concurrently in the course of the next two months.
