HC Deb 26 July 1927 vol 209 c1031
72. Mr. BUCHANAN

asked the Minister of Labour if he is aware of the decrease in the number of girls who are now attending training centres in Glasgow; and if he can explain the cause of this decrease?

Mr. BETTERTON

Yes, Sir; during the present year there has been a decline month by month in the number of girls attending Juvenile Unemployment Centres in Glasgow. This is, I think, fully accounted for by a decline in unemployment. There has been no alteration in the rules governing the admission of girls to the centres.
